Abstract or Summary:
Yubikey is a One-Time Password system based on AES that comes with free and open software and a online web service for verification of OTPs. A Yubikey combined with a password provide two factor authentication. It can be used together with the server-side YubiHSM to build good security for Yubikey and password validation. We'll describe how the Yubikey works and what software is available for improving systems security. We'll also describe how you can implement normal password validation using the YubiHSM without storing password-equivalent credentials on the server.
