Current and potential online banking customers are reassured by one-time password mobile phone solution

Study: MORI Survey - Security Fears Over Online Banking

RSA Security has a product that allows people to use their mobile phones to receive or generate one-time passwords for use in online authentication. MORI demonstrated this product to two focus groups and surveyed their resulting opinions. Percent of people who are reassured by the RSA mobile security solution:
  • 67%
  • Current e-bankers
  • 64%
  • People who would consider e-banking

    How knowledge of the RSA mobile security solution affects opinions of current e-bankers on e-banking security:
  • Over a quarter (around 25%)
  • Would think poorly of their bank if it did not offer a comparable level of security
  • 12%
  • Would consider changing banks to use the solution
  • 17%
  • Solution would encourage them to use the e-banking service more

    How knowledge of the RSA mobile security solution affects opinions of people who would consider e-banking:
  • 23%
  • Would be encouraged to become e-bankers if an established bank offered the solution
